In a wrap of our series called Stories of Hope, we reflect on the inspiring journeys of people who have overcome tremendous odds.
We also address the issue of how the stigma and discrimination towards those who suffer from substance abuse often stops addicts from starting a new life.
This year also saw some positive movement with operations by the Gauteng Department of Public Safety, aimed at cleaning up the inner city of Johannesburg.
