This year, musician Joel Zuma has something unique to offer.
He plans to pay tribute to the late American lovebird Luther Vandross.
By honouring Vandross, Joel aims to spread love among couples.
This tribute will make a perfect Valentine’s Day gift from him to all lovers.

He said they staged the show in 2024 at the same venue on Valentine’s Day and it was supposed to be one night only but to their surprise it was quickly sold out and they added another show.
“It’s clear that love songs don’t go out of fashion. People still need to hear those romantic ballads that have stood the test of time, performed live.
“Luther was the king of love songs and ballads. His classic songs are sure to make people fall in love again,” he said.
The singer said Luther was the greatest vocalist of all time.
“He taught me a lot about writing from the heart and not to be afraid of being vulnerable through music.
“People connect more with the truth of the authenticity in the music. I used to watch his live shows a lot, and I’ve always been amazed at how his voice and live delivery was even better than what heard on CDs, which is very hard to achieve, but with years of practice, I think I’m able to do that now,” he said.
The musician said guests can expect an evening of love songs performed live with a live quartet.
“They’ll be taken down memory lane through Luther’s extensive catalogue of powerful classics like Always and Forever, Never Too Much, Here and Now and many more.”
Joel, who made his breakthrough in the music with his classic Afro-soul album, titled When the Times is Right in 2012, said the audience will also get a chance to hear a few brand-new songs from his new album, titled Essence of Love which will be released on Valentine’s weekend.
