Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has issued an update on the club’s previously injured players, who include the somewhat forgotten Mduduzi Mdantsane and former Orlando Pirates man Bongani Sam, amongst others.
Amakhosi returned from the international break on the front foot with a 2-1 triumph over Richards Bay FC at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday.

The match saw the first appearance of the season from midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa, while Pule Mmodi also got some rare competitive action.
However, the likes of Mdantsane and Same still did not make the travelling squad to Polokwane, despite having featured in the recent Home of Legends Cup in the Eastern Cape.
Nabi has provided clarity that these players, while having recovered from their respective injuries, are still not ready for competitive action.
“It’s true that some players that were injured for quite some time came back for the Home of Legends games,” Nabi said via assistant coach and translator Cedric Kaze.
“We have also tried to make [organise] some other friendly matches to give them more playing time.
“They are not yet 100%, but we will keep working and we feel that they can help in some minutes,” he added.

The Soweto giants are also without attacking midfielders Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and George Matlou, who are still nursing injuries and were not involved in the team’s full training during the week.
Sam and Edmilson Dove also took no part in full training as they recover from injuries.
Chiefs take on Royal AM at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 17:45.
