ACTIONSA gears up for the year.

The party has shared its political plans for 2025, which include roping in new members and launching new branches across Mzansi.

The past year saw ActionSA abandon by its political partner, the DA, which chose to form a government with the ANC.

This led to ActionSA cutting its ties with the DA in municipalities they led together.

Party leader Herman Mashaba shared that for 2025, ActionSA will focus its efforts on several key areas that need attention.

He said these areas include consolidating credible membership numbers and launching party branches throughout the country.

“We believe this is the only way we shall get to grow our footprint and ideological influence for progressive socio-political and economic change that will improve the lives of more communities,” Mashaba said.

He said his party also needs to identify strategic municipalities to contest in 2026.

He said they’ll utilise resources cleverly and make much-needed impact at the grassroots level.

Mashaba said if they succeed, they’ll make it harder for competing parties to form local governments without ActionSA.

“We believe that to make a difference, ActionSA must be present in local governments around the country, represented by capable men and women who are dedicated to its drive for more inclusive, responsive and effective governance.

“We’ve begun to do this in Tshwane, working in a well-managed collaboration with coalition partners. We also need to identify and attract smaller parties that share our values to join forces with ActionSA,” he said.

Mashaba said the aim is to deepen collaboration with like-minded parties, especially those that enjoy proven presence on the ground and demonstrate genuine interest in making a difference for the residents of municipalities across the country.

“We won’t enter or remain in abusive coalition arrangements that work against the interest of the communities they’re meant to serve or ethical leadership principles we hold dear.”
