Seneath SA has signed a three-year distribution deal with Virgin Music Group.

MUSICIAN Seneath SA is proud of himself.

The 33-year-old, whose real name is Seneath Mothai, has just signed a three-year distribution deal with international record label, Virgin Music Group.

Seneath from Botshabelo in the Free State spoke to Daily Sun about clinching the life-changing deal.

“I met the marketing director of the company, and they were impressed by the numbers I got. So, they offered me a distribution deal. I couldn’t believe it. It felt like God was finally hearing me.

“I’m witnessing His love for me. I’ve been praying for these things as I work hard. I’m really proud of myself,” he said.

The house music sensation has been working on his career since high school.

“I fell in love with music when I was in grade 11. I was inspired by musicians such as Bojo Mujo. In 2013, I released a song titled Wabalata. Radio presenter Ntate Thuso Motaung shared the song and it went viral from there. He had heard it from somewhere and loved it, so he shared it with his fans.

“We pushed that song until 2016. Another song I released alongside Wabalata titled Crossroads, went viral in Botswana. I had a chance to meet one of Botswana’s biggest artists, Han C. We made the song Sedi Laka, and it went big that side and in the Free State,” he said.

His life changed when he released his song Move On early this year.

“People love the song. And because of how well it’s done 2Point1, the duo that won Record of the Year at the South African Music Awards (Samas) last year, reached out to me. They loved my work and asked that we collaborate.

“We’ve released a song titled Sthandwa Sam, which currently has 2,5 million streams on Spotify. The music video was released two weeks ago, and it already has 3,1 million views on YouTube. So, people really started to recognise my brand this year.

He’ll be releasing a new project soon.

“The EP is titled Passion and Patience. It’s about me and the passion and my patience for the music,” he said.
