SUSPECT found dead after gunning down two women and two cops.
Three police officers responded to the murder of a woman at Cliffdale area in Hammarsdale on Friday, 13 December, where the perpetrator allegedly returned and opened fire, fatally wounding two officers. The third officer wasn’t injured.
It’s alleged that the suspect also shot an elderly woman at the scene before fleeing.
Following the incident, cops received information of a man fitting the description of the suspect receiving medical attention at a nearby hospital.

Cops arrested the suspect (38), but later it turned out he was the wrong suspect and was released. The alleged real suspect was found dead in the bushes next to the crime screen in the early hours of Sunday, 15 December.
KZN police spokesman Brigadier Jay Naicker said: “He was shot and injured during the shoot-out with police and died after fleeing the scene. A firearm taken from one of the police officers was found in his possession.
“In the early hours of this morning police offices were able to follow the path taken by the suspect which led to the discovery of the body. Investigators are processing the scene. The suspect is in his 30s.”
KZN police commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi condemned the callous murder of four people, including two cops.
“It’s very sad indeed to attend scenes of crime where police officers are gunned down just because they have responded to the call of duty. I’d like to extend my condolences to the families of our fallen heroes,” he said.
