Julius Malema has been re-elected as EFF president.
JULIUS Malema has been re-elected unopposed as EFF president and commander in chief.
Ove 2 000 delegates of the EFF cast their votes on Saturday evening, 14 December to elect the new top six leaders.
The elections were held at the Expo Centre in Nasrec, Joburg during the party’s third National People’s Assembly which is currently underway.
Malema was voted in as the party’s president and commander In chief (CIC), reinforcing his continued leadership at the helm of the red berets.

Other members who were elected are deputy president, Godrich Gardee, secretary-general, Marshall Dlamini, deputy secretary- general, Leigh-Ann Mathys, national chairwoman, Nontando Nolutshungu and treasurer-general, Omphile Maotwe.
While there are some old faces in the leadership, there are also some new faces, with Nolitshungu replacing Veronica Mente and Mathys replacing Poppy Mailola.
Advocate Thembeka Ngcukaitobi managed the proceedings on behalf of the elections committee. He told the delegates that nominated candidates must meet a 30% threshold before their names make it to the ballot.
Sixty command central teams members will be elected on Sunday, 15 December, which will add to the top six, making the number 66.
There is also a gender parity rule of a minimum of 33 women.
