SAMMY Sithole shares his dream home with many animals.

For many years, the 64-year-old madala said he had always wanted to live in his dream house.

Thanks to his late parents, who left him a five-room home, he has since developed it into a tourist attraction filled with animal sculptures.

Madala said his dream was always to live in a mansion, but that never happened.

Sammy from Klipgat in North West said his dream was to own a house in Waterkloof, Tshwane, or Sandton, Joburg, but that was a distant dream.

“I decided to convert my family home into a mansion with many animals. It feels like I’m living in a mansion. My parents have died. My siblings have houses of their own. However, they always come as if it’s our family home,” he said.

Sammy told Daily Sun he survives by selling clothes, belts, watches, and other items.

Meanwhile, his family home was built in the 1980s by his late parents, Pauline Sithole and Frans Sithole.

The house was initially a five-room property, and he extended it to seven rooms in 2000, with money he earned as a hawker.

“I’m happy, and there’s peace. I make sure the house is well-maintained, and the garden is done by me.”

Sammy spends most of his time decorating the house because he loves animals.

He said many people stop in front of the house to take pictures.

The madala said others don’t believe it’s him who lives in the house full of sculptured animals.

Sammy’s passion is decoration. He adorned his house and garden with everything that resembles life. Furthermore, he said people mention that the house should be moved into the kasi as it doesn’t fit well in the semi-villages.

The father of three said he keeps himself busy by ensuring that his house is beautiful. He survives through part-time jobs and receives a R2 180 grant money.

Sammy lives with his wife, Rosinah Sibanyoni (56).

“Some people say our home is like a crèche, but we’re at peace,” she said.

She described her husband as loving and caring.

Sammy’s brother, Moffat Sithole (58), said his brother is taking good care of their family home.

“It’s cool, and we have peace,” he said.
