The 26-year-old is best known for his hit show, Awkward Dates, which has captivated audiences over the past seven years.
Taking to Instagram to share the news, Lasizwe expressed his excitement and gratitude.
“We just made history! I’m the first under-30 male to reach 1 million subscribers on YouTube in South Africa. Crazy!,” wrote Lasizwe.
He also thanked his loyal supporters.
“Firstly, thank you. Thank you to everyone who has subscribed to my channel and supported me from seven years ago until now. Let’s go back in time! What was your favourite era?,” he wrote.
This milestone marks a significant moment in Lasizwe’s career, further cemented by his nomination at the South African Film and Television Awards.

Looking back on his journey, Lasizwe spoke to Daily Sun about the challenges he faced along the way.
“I am over the moon. I’m excited, grateful and emotional. The most important takeaway for me is, never give up. Seven years ago, I almost quit YouTube because of my mental health struggles and everything I was going through. I thought: ‘It’s not worth it.’ But look at me today, I’ve got 1 million subscribers,” he said.
Looking ahead, Lasizwe revealed plans to revisit some of the elements that defined his brand and connect with his audience on a deeper level.
“We’re bringing back some nostalgic episodes and working on fresh content. It’s all about paying homage to the journey and appreciating our supporters who have been with us every step of the way.”
