Msaki brought the house down at the Camagu in Symphony show.
SunBet arena roared with anticipation.
From the moment she positioned herself center stage, crouched low on the white furry mat, to when she stood up to emphasize the oval arrangement of the orchestra around her.
Expressing her gratitude after having serenaded her audience with her two opening songs, she says, “You all decided to make me a person today and show up for my show. Thank you guys, so much. I’m in awe of the warmth in the room. I don’t have many words but that these songs come from a place that I can’t explain.
“It’s that place where you trust that if you jump off this beautiful cliff and into the beautiful waters underneath it that you’d be caught by love. That’s the first realisation. Then when you’re about to make that jump, you realise again that the cliff itself is made of love too. Love carried me to this place. You think you’re making another leap, but love has always been there; an infinite source of love, connecting all of us, guiding us and I feel like I’m in one of those moments,” she adds.
And just like that, she introduced the first artist to join her on stage – Nduduzo Makhathini.
Nduduzo Makhathini was first to join Msaki on stage.
