A HORRIFIC crash between a minibus taxi and bakkie has left 13 people dead.Â
The crash happened along the R40 road near Klaserie outside Tzaneen in the Maruleng Local Municipality, Limpopo on Saturday, 8 February.Â
The accident resulted in the deaths and serious injuries of those involved.Â
Preliminary reports indicate that ten passengers from the minibus taxi and three from the bakkie died.Â
Limpopo Transport and Community Safety spokeswoman Tidimalo Chuene said three critically injured passengers have been transported to Tinswalo Hospital for medical attention.
“An investigation into the cause of the accident is currently underway and the department will provide updates on the investigation as more information becomes available,” she said.Â
