A patron managed to settle the fray briefly but tension persisted. In a shocking twist, the suspect pulled a firearm and shot another patron before disappearing into the night.

The wounded man received immediate medical attention at a local hospital. Authorities didn’t waste a moment.

By the following day, Friday 27 December, they had tracked the suspect to Acornhoek.

There, he was arrested during traditional rituals, while in possession of a firearm and seventeen rounds of ammunition.
