DJ Desiree will perform at Coachella in California, US in 2025.

Desiree is one of the artists who will perform at Coachella in 2025 and said confidence has been the biggest change in her life.

The DJ, whose real name is Palesa Desiree Shilabje, said being one of the artists at Coachella is surreal.

“Coming from Ivory Park to Coachella feels unreal when I say it out loud. I keep thinking about being that kid who discovered electronic music through fashion shows and now I get to share my own sound on one of the biggest stages.

“I’m excited to create something special for everyone there. And yes, I’ve already started planning my outfit – when fashion introduces you to music, you can’t show up to Coachella not looking your best,” she said.

She also shared her current mental state.

“I’m learning to find peace in the madness, calling family when I need grounding and spending time in the studio when I need to reset. The pace is wild, but I’m grateful for every moment of it,” she said.

Desiree has a new EP out called Intersexy and shared what it is all about.

“This EP really came from the heart. I wanted to capture all these different sides of myself in sound. The inspiration came from everywhere, fragments captured between shows, solitary days at home when the city’s quiet and those raw moments when emotions just need to become sound. The title, Intersexy, isn’t just about identity – it’s about those beautiful moments where different sounds collide and create something magical,” she said.

She said the biggest change in her career is confidence.

“Not just in the studio but in taking creative risks. Playing in different spaces around the world has taught me that sometimes the ‘mistakes’ become the most beautiful parts of a track. I’m making music that feels true to my journey rather than trying to fit into any particular box,” she said.
