ECONOMIC Freedom Fighters (EFF) member Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi has resigned.
This was announced by the party in a statement on Thursday, 9 January.
The party said it received the voluntary resignation of two representatives, Ndlozi and Yazini Tetyana, from the National Assembly and provincial legislature.
EFF national spokeswoman Leigh-Ann Mathys said that the requests to be released from their deployment were sent to the secretary-general of the EFF consecutively, within days of each other. Both expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to serve the organisation and the people of South Africa.
“The EFF has accepted the voluntary requests from the two fighters, who have diligently served the organisation in their respective deployments since the EFF has been represented in the legislative sphere,” said Mathys.
Tetyana served in the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature, while Ndlozi has been serving in Parliament since 2014.

Mathys said both have been exemplary in their roles and commendable public representatives.
“The EFF wishes the fighters well in their future endeavors,” she said.
Ndlozi’s resignation has been anticipated since the EFF’s third elective conference in December 2024, where he was notably absent.
At that time, party leader Julius Malema instructed members not to answer any questions about Ndlozi, stating that no one is bigger than the party and those who needed to be at the conference attended.
This is a developing story.
