DJ and content creator Cyan Boujee is among the celebrities who were arrested in 2024.
WHILE many admire celebrities, they’ are often shocked and disappointed when their role models stumble.
Daily Sun took a look at celebrities who were arrested or involved in lawsuits.
Babes Wodumo A case of assault was opened against the gqom queen, whose real name is Bongekile Simelane. This after she allegedly assaulted Durban designer, Philly Mhlongo of SK Dee Designs at Philly’s business place in February. Babes Wodumo’s trial has been set for 14, 15 and 16 January 2025.
Cyan BoujeeThe controversial DJ and content creator, whose real name is Honour Zuma, was bust in June for allegedly stealing an iPhone. At the time, Gauteng police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Mavela Masondo said the DJ was arrested after a performance in Midrand.
“The suspect (21) was arrested in the early hours of this morning and is expected to appear before the Midrand Magistrates Court. The suspect is charged with theft,” he said.
Thandani “Bibo” Ntshumayelo The soccer star was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, Itumeleng Alice in February. His assault charges were withdrawn by the state during his appearance in the Randburg Magistrates in September.

Nkunyana NkunyanaThe Lesedi FM presenter was arrested for alleged gender-based violence in Bloemfontein, Free State in April. He allegedly assaulted his wife after an argument.
Longwe Twala Longwe, who is the son of legendary music producer, Chicco Twala, was arrested alongside his brother, Sello Junior for housebreaking and theft in September. The duo allegedly broke into their dad’s studio and stole equipment worth thousands of Rand.
At the time, Gauteng police confirmed that Chicco opened a case of theft against his two sons after they allegedly stole several items from his house. “The suspects who are aged 34 and 39 are expected to appear before Randburg Magistrates Court on 3 September facing a charge of theft,” read the statement.
Jackie PhamotseFollowing a lengthy legal battle, the author was sentenced to two years correctional supervision in March and was ordered to perform community service. This was for defaming media moguls Romeo and Basetsana Kumalo over a tweet alleging that Romeo had engaged in a sexual encounter with another man. Phamotse was ordered to submit herself to social workers for assessment. She was also fined R12 000 for count three or four-months imprisonment and on count four R18 000 or six months imprisonment.
