THE murder case involving rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes and celebrity chef Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane has been postponed.
This delay comes as those arrested in eSwatini were granted the right to appeal their extradition.
On Friday, 29 November, five men linked to the murder appeared at the Durban Magistrates Court following a long adjournment since 8 August 2024.
During the court appearance on Friday, Lindokuhle Mkhwanazi, Lindani Ndimande, Siyanda Myeza, Mziwethemba Gwabeni, and Lindokuhle Mkhwanazi awaited the eSwatini High Court’s judgment on their extradition appeal.
On the same day, the eSwatini High Court granted Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande the right to appeal, challenging the Manzini Magistrate Court’s decision on 16 August to extradite them to Mzansi.
The case was postponed to Friday, 7 February 2025 to allow the state to finalize the indictments against the five suspects.

Senior Prosecutor Lawrence applied for the postponement to accommodate these additions and finalize indictments.
However, Magistrate Vincent Hlatshwayo emphasized that the postponement is solely for finalizing indictments, warning that further delays related to the extradition issue will not be entertained.
“The case was adjourned for further investigation, particularly financial, and the possible addition of accused individuals,” said the magistrate.
He noted that delays occurred due to the pending extradition judgment, but with the appeal being successful, those accused are not expected to arrive.
Previously, the state had reported readiness for trial regardless of the extradition status of those arrested in eSwatini. They have acquired video footage identifying one suspect at King Shaka International Airport.
