SALDANHA BAY – The Joshlin Smith kidnapping continues as the court tries to determine whether two of the suspects’ confessions were voluntary.
Jacquen Appollis and Steveno van Rhyn claim they were tortured into making statements.
However, doctors who examined the pair are refuting the claims.
They say the injuries are not consistent with their claims of hours of assault.
The police officer who took down Appollis’ confession will be cross-examined.
The then 6-year-old disappeared from her Saldanha Bay home over a year ago.
