GP safety committee visits slain patrollers families

JOHANNESBURG – The chairperson of Gauteng’s portfolio committee on community safety, Dr Bandile Masuku, recently led a visit to the families of community patrollers who were shot and killed at Marry Me in Soshanguve.

The incident has once again highlighted concerns over crime in informal settlements, where law enforcement presence is often limited. 

Masuku discussed the committee’s findings, the possible driving factors behind high crime levels in these areas, and what interventions are being considered with eNCA.
