PIETERMARITZBURG – With the festive season in full swing, commuters who use taxis for their long-distance trips can breathe a sigh of relief, as reports say that the strike is now over.
Services are expected to return to normal today. A meeting between the KwaZulu-Natal Transport Department and the Durban Long-Distance Taxi Association resolved the week-long strike.

Disgruntled operators went on strike after accusing the department of delaying the issuing of operating licenses and permits that would allow them to operate legally.
