Pikitup slay queen Cindy turns heads on weekends.
CINDY Mazibuko picks up litter in Katlehong, Ekurhuleni, during the week.
On weekends, she’s a slay queen.
The 30-year-old works for Pikitup, keeping the streets clean. On weekends, she gets dolled up and heads to the fun spots.
Cindy, who is also a 2015 SunBabe, told Daily Sun there are two versions of her – the one who works and the one who slays.
“These two people are not that different. They’re both working towards one goal. I had a baby and decided I’d give them my whole time during the week. On weekends, I go to my dad. When he leaves, I continue being the Cindy I was before I became a mum.
“I know it’s hard for parents to be themselves because being a parent is a full-time job. But a kid needs happy parents. They won’t be happy if their parents aren’t happy. In everything we do, as parents, we should make sure we keep ourselves as such,” she said.

Cindy said she’s a hustler who ensures she maintains her lifestyle.
“During the week, I work for the City of Ekurhuleni at Pikitup, picking up papers in the streets. On weekends, I do promotions. I also do hair and make-up. Sometimes in the morning, I wake up, do someone’s make-up or hair, and then go to my Pikitup job. It’s not easy, but I need to hustle for my kid.”
Cindy said she loves both her jobs.
“Honestly, it wasn’t a difficult decision to work in the streets because I needed to feed my kid. She also needs clothes and to be taken care of. I’m not ashamed of the work I do. Just because I have a diploma in business management and technology innovation, I don’t have high standards.
“If it wasn’t for this job, I wouldn’t be able to live the life I’m living. I would also not be able to afford my lifestyle. With my work as a promoter, I hope to eventually start my own marketing company,” she said.
