PRETORIA – The DNA backlog remains a serious concern despite efforts to address the problem.
There are over 140,000 DNA cases backlog.
This was addressed by Parliament’s Police Committee Chair, Ian Cameron in conversation with eNCA.
He says if it is left unresolved, this crisis could undermine the effectiveness of the criminal justice system.
General Tshilidzi Mulaudzi, Head of the Forensic Science Laboratory responded to Cameron’s assertions.
