Landman lives to drill another day. According to Paramount, the latest Taylor Sheridan series is officially renewed for season 2. Billy Bob Thornton will return as oil patch manager—aka landman—Tommy Norris, who must keep the peace between the Texas oil workers and their company’s billionaire owner, Monty Miller (Jon Hamm). It’s one of those Advil-a-day jobs. Thanks to Landman’s success, it’s not ending anytime soon.
Landman’s season 1 premiere garnered 35 million global viewers, Paramount announced in the official press release for season 2. Reportedly, the last episode was also the most-watched finale of any series in Paramount+ history. Thornton was even nominated for a Golden Globe!
In season 2, Tommy Norris will need to focus on saving his oil company from complete fallout. In the finale, Monty (Jon Hamm) suddenly passes away following a heart attack. Tommy also makes a new frenemy in Mexican cartel leader Galino (Andy Garcia), who will likely serve as the main antagonist moving forward.

Will There Be a Landman Season 2?Demi Moore (The Substance) is a sure bet to return for another season of Landman. The recent Academy Award nominee plays Monty’s criminally underused wife, Cami Miller. When she spoke with Deadline this past summer at the Cannes Film Festival, Moore revealed that she expects to return to Texas to film season 2.
“I’ve already completed the first season, and I’m excited for us to start the second, which will be at the beginning of next year,” Moore said. “It’s a very interesting world in the boomtown of Fort Worth, Texas. It’s kind of this subculture that we haven’t seen before, which is what I think Taylor [Sheridan] does so well.”

In an interview with Elle, Ali Larter also confirmed that there’s already a plan to film season 2. When asked if production had a timeline for the next season, Larter responded, “We do.”
She also revealed that she’s hoping Angela and Tommy have more scenes in bed together in the next season. “That connection—that unlikely love story—is something really interesting,” she said. “We’re going to see, as the [next] season unfolds, that Angela’s going to be in a different place in her life again. I think that her priorities have changed, so you’ll see some of that unfolding.”
When Will Landman Season 2 Premiere?As filming is already underway, I wouldn’t expect Landman season 2 any time before the end of the year. We’ll have to wait until then to see where Landman heads next. In the meantime, Sheridan will keep viewers busy with the second season of 1923 and the upcoming Yellowstone spin-off, The Madison.
