Discussion | 35 years since Nelson Mandela’s release from prison

JOHANNESBURG – On this day, 35 years ago, Nelson Mandela was released from prison.

South African was on a trajectory that would see apartheid finally abolished and a democratic era was ushered in a few years later.

So what lessons have been learnt?

That was the question posed at a Round Table discussion at the Robben Island Museum.

Speakers including Trevor Manuela and Ndileka Mandela.

Mandela spoke with eNCA about the legacy of her grandfather.

The key note address was delivered by Public Service Commissioner Chairperson, Professor Somadoda Fikeni.
