JOHANNESBURG – In a significant peace summit held in Tanzania, Kenyan President William Ruto urged all armed forces in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo to cease hostilities and engage in dialogue for stability.
The M23 armed group, which has been linked to Rwanda, has made territorial gains in the mineral-rich eastern DRC, prompting concerns over the humanitarian impact and regional security.
