Mpumalanga school fire prompts arson probe, officials on scene now.
The Mpumalanga Department of Education has initiated an investigation after a fire devastated the Peter Mokaba Primary School in Nkangala on Saturday, 8 February.
Education spokesman, Gerald Sambo, said the department has sent officials to the scene to assess the damage and provide recommendations for the necessary steps forward.
“The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this stage.

A formal investigation into the cause will be undertaken in collaboration with the relevant institutions,” he said.
Mpumalanga police spokeswoman, Lieutenant-Colonel Jabu Ndubane, confirmed that a case of arson was registered with the police, and an investigation is underway.
