Singer Shasha says she has been on a self-love journey for a while.
WITH Valentine’s Day just around the corner, singer Shasha reflects on the importance of self-love.
The 30-year-old Zimbabwen born and South African-based singer emphasised that before people can truly love others, they must first love themselves.
Shasha, whose real name is Charmaine Shamiso Mapimbiro, has been single for some time and shared that her personal journey with God has been transformative.
She said it has not only helped her discover the true meaning of love but also guided her to find that love within herself.
“I have an interesting take about love. I’ve spoken about romantic relationship and the journey I’ve had was all about self-love,” she said.
She said loving yourself is the foundation.
“When you begin to love who you are, it spills over into every single thing around you, be it your romantic relationship, your career or whatever it is. Love has become more broader than just a feeling,” she said.

Shasha said it has also become a spiritual experience.
“I’m a Christian and that journey has helped me find what true love is and also within myself,” she said.
She said love is way deeper. “It’s way more patient and deeper than just the generic that we see all around us,” she said.
Shasha said she’s been working on music and is also happy with the response to her last work.
“I’m excited the way my song has been moving. For someone who has been quite for a minute, having to see those numbers is fulfilling and I feel like I know what I’m doing,” she said.
She said that she’ll concentrate on music in 2025. “I hope to have at least four singles. And I guess we’ll see the album next year,” she said.
