“They are badly hurt. I bet some of their bones are broken. The one who was lying on the ground was poured with water because it looked like he was about to die, but we thank God he’s alive. Maybe he’ll get a chance to repent.

“While waiting for another ambulance, paramedics covered one of the wounded men with a white body mask and a family member mistakenly thought he had died and cried inconsolably until she was told that both men were alive and that they had just covered him because he was cold. The other suspect, who was inside the ambulance, was vomiting blood,” said the witness.

The men’s families refused to speak to Daily Sun.

Before the men were taken to hospital, their family members were seen gathering their personal belongings including clothes, dreadlocks and keys.

Gauteng police spokeswoman Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said a case of assault was opened for further investigation after two men were assaulted by unknown people in Soshanguve.

“No one has been arrested and the circumstances that led to the attack are unknown at this stage,” said Nevhuhulwi.
