Tsekeleke accuses Dr Malinga of withholding money meant for his family.
FROM stardom to struggle.
Mixon Tholo, popularly known as Tsekeleke, once envisioned a prosperous partnership with singer Dr Malinga.
Yet, the TikTok star from Mabopane in Tshwane said he now finds himself begging for his owed money.
Tsekeleke, famous for his catchy dance moves, claimed he feels exploited after working hard during the festive season without fair compensation.
A public spat with his manager, Dr Malinga, has brought the issue to light.
It all began when a generous donor allegedly offered Tsekeleke R100 000.
“The man said he wanted to give me R100 000, but Dr Malinga asked him to send it to his account. I’ve never seen a cent from that money,” claimed Tsekeleke.
He further alleged that Malinga only decided to buy him furniture after his complaints went viral.
“He arrived with beds, but my family wasn’t happy. They’re angry at what he’s done,” Tsekeleke claimed.

He also complained about his lack of involvement in financial decisions.
“I perform without knowing what Malinga charges. He only gives me R2 000 per show,” claimed Tsekeleke.
This festive season, despite performing over five times, Tsekeleke claimed that he received no payment.
“When I inquire about my earnings, he says I won’t get it,” he claimed.
Feeling frustrated, Tsekeleke is considering returning to street performances.
“I need a new manager, or I’ll go back to the streets,” he said.
In response, Dr Malinga denied exploiting Tsekeleke.
“I’ve been asking funds from people for Tsekeleke. Initially it was for a makeover for his bedroom and after that was done. I saw a need to also help his family,” said Dr Malinga.
On receiving the R100 000 donation, Malinga claimed he allocated R10 000 each to Tsekeleke’s mum, girlfriend, and himself, and used the rest to buy furniture.
“I want them to have a comfortable life,” said Malinga, who intends to build the family a house but no longer works with Tsekeleke.
He justified his actions, saying: “I feared the money would be squandered. I’m painted as the villain, but I’m trying to help.”
He offered video proof of his claims, showing receipts for the spent donations.
After Daily Sun contacted Dr Malinga, he took to his TikTok page to rant about the issue.
In a video that has been circulating on social media, Malinga spoke about getting a call from Daily Sun.
“People from Daily Sun called me saying he (Tsekeleke) said I’m eating his money, and I calculated for them and sent them receipts,” he said.
Daily Sun further called Tsekeleke’s family, and their phone was on voicemail.
When Daily Sun called Tsekeleke once again, he hung up the phone.
