A. Yellow level 4 warning: severe thunderstorms with possible damaging winds, large amounts of small hail, excessive lightning and heavy downpours, resulting in flooding of susceptible roads, low-lying areas and bridges, localised damage to formal and informal settlements and infrastructure, and difficult driving conditions due to slippery roads are expected over the eastern parts of Northern Cape, western parts of North West and Free State.
B. IMPACT-BASED WARNINGS FOR SUNDAY (05/01/2025) AND MONDAY (06/01/2025)
A. Yellow Level 4 warning: disruptive rainfall leading to flooding of susceptible formal and informal settlements, low lying areas, roads and bridges is expected over the central and eastern parts of North West and of Free State, most parts of Gauteng, Highveld of Mpumalanga as well as most of KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday and Monday. It is expected to spread to most parts of Mpumalanga and Limpopo on Monday, except over the Lowveld and Limpopo Valley.
FIRE DANGER WARNINGS
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the northern-eastern parts of Western Cape, western parts of Northern Cape and the western parts of Eastern Cape.
ADVISORIES
A. A Heat wave with persistently high temperatures is expected in places over the northern parts of the Eastern Cape, lasting until Saturday (04/01/2025).
B. Hot and humid weather will result in extremely uncomfortable conditions over eastern parts of KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday (04/01/2025).
C. Rainfall accumulating between Saturday (04/01/2025) and Monday (06/01/2025), may lead to localised flooding in places in the astern parts of Eastern Cape.
