LINDOKUHLE Siwela, a 30-year-old mother from Mkhuhlu in Mpumalanga, had always wished to give birth on Christmas day.
She realized her dream today, giving birth to a baby girl at 2:25 AM at Matikwane Hospital.
Siwela is among several mothers who delivered early this morning; by 9:00 AM, at least two boys and one girl were born.
As a first-time mom, Siwela shared with Daily Sun that she named her daughter Melokuhle because she longed for a child at her age.
Lindokuhle Siwela gave birth to her daughter, Melokuhle, this morning.
After experiencing contractions four days ago, she went to the hospital only to be sent back, being told it was false labor.

“It was my wish to give birth on Christmas day. I am so excited; this is a dream come true. I have always wanted a baby, and this is the perfect age,” she said.
Another mother, Ayanda Mahungela, 24, also gave birth to a baby girl named Eloquent Siwela. She expressed her joy and said: “I am so excited to have given birth today. This is a special day for me.”

A total of 34 babies were delivered between midnight and 06:00 AM. The Ehlanzeni region saw 17 births, Gert Sibande 13, and Nkangala 4. Among these, 14 were boys, and 20 were girls.
