FORMER Isidingo actress Michelle Botes dies.
But the circumstances surrounding the actresses passing are still unclear.
The 63-year-old was known for her iconic role as Cherel de Villiers on the SABC3 soapie.
She recently spoke about her battle with cancer during an interview with the magazine, Bruis.
Speaking to the magazine, Michelle said she has been through deep waters over the past two and a half years after being diagnosed with a rare, incurable type of blood cancer.
She said she was hoping for a miracle.

“My doctors said if I can hold on until January, there might be new trials we can try. Whatever awaits me, I’m ready. I have complete peace and am deeply grateful for every single day that is granted to me,” she told the magazine.
Messages of support and shock have been pouring since news of her passing broke.
Former DA pleader, Mmusi Maimane said we have lost an icon.
“Thank you to Michelle Botes for all your commitment and passion over the years. Your characters were a household staple and you brought joy to all those who followed your work over the years. Rest in peace. Condolences to the Botes family and to all those who knew and loved Michelle. Our prayers are with you in this time of pain,” he wrote.
Actor’s Space wrote: “A true stars light illuminates to eternity. Michelle Botes, will forever be known for her jaw dropping and eye brow raising performances that have set standards for many playing it big on our screens and theatres. A remarkable thespian, consistently committed to her craft. Rest well, your work lives on.”
