Germiston Ashfire United players are ambitious to play in the PSL.
TALENTED youngsters all have a wish to turn professional.
Dreams of being a soccer star, athlete, golfer, rugby player, and many other sporting codes are common.
Some achieve these dreams with the support from families who provide much-needed sports equipment and encouragement.
Soccer players from Germiston Ashfire United in Ekurhuleni strive to pursue their dreams of becoming big-name diski stars, irrespective of their family backgrounds.
They want to follow in the footsteps of Senegalese soccer player Sadio Mane, who rose from wearing torn boots and shorts to becoming a world-renowned football player.
Mane, a former Liverpool player, arrived at the Anfield-based team in 2016 and helped Liverpool win numerous trophies, including the Uefa Champions League.
His success proves that anyone can achieve their goals with determination and hard work.

Ashfire United players want to emulate Mane and many other successful soccer greats who didn’t let difficulties deter their ambitions.
Germiston Ashfire United players need help.
The club participates in the Ekurhuleni Safa Hollywood Regional Men’s League.
Team chairman Lesemang Matuka said they face major challenges.
Some players attend training with torn soccer boots, while others wear their parents’ shoes.
“These are highly talented footballers who want to play the sport at the highest level. Most of them come from disadvantaged families but they don’t let circumstances stand in the way. I’m touched by their backgrounds and commitment to playing football. I wish to see more South African corporates and individuals invest in football development,” said Matuka.
“It’s widely known that many South Africans are struggling to make ends meet, but I’ve been moved by these promising footballers who attend training without having had proper meals or decent training gear, such as soccer boots and sandals. Some players come to training or matches wearing their mums’ sandals, which shows their determination to keep their dreams alive.”
The club is appealing to businesspeople and individuals for sponsorship or donations, including soccer boots, takkies, and sports bags for players.
